BARRINGTON STAGE COMPANY ANNOUNCES 2014 ASSOCIATE ARTISTS
Brian Prather, Pat McCorkle, Scott Pinkney, Charlie Siedenburg Honored
(PITTSFIELD, MA) May 2014 – Barrington Stage Company (BSC), under the leadership of Julianne Boyd Artistic Director and Tristan Wilson Managing Director, announces four new Associate Artists, all of whom are working at Barrington Stage in 2014 – casting director Pat McCorkle, lighting designer Scott Pinkney, scenic designer Brian Prather, and press director Charlie Siedenburg.
Formed in 2010, the Associate Artists program’s honorees include choreographer Joshua Bergasse, music director Darren R. Cohen, actor Mark H. Dold, actress Gretchen Egolf, composer/lyricist William Finn, actor/director Christopher Innvar, production stage manager Renee Lutz, director John Rando, actress Debra Jo Rupp, and playwright Mark St. Germain.
Associate Artists are integral members of the BSC theatre family who have made extraordinary contributions to the theatre. They have helped the theatre accomplish its mission, both by collaborating on top-notch work at BSC and by fostering a close relationship with the community. Associate Artists are part of the artistic team and help by suggesting plays and musicals to be produced, by developing new work on both the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage and the St. Germain Stage and by consulting with the Artistic Director on various projects, both artistic and educational.

Casting Director Pat McCorkle is thrilled to be an Artistic Associate for Barrington Stage Company. This marks her 14th season with Julie Boyd, having cast the actors in over 50 of the company’s main stage and second stage plays. Having strong roots in theater and in directing, a flair for the unexpected and tireless perseverance, Pat McCorkle, founder and president of McCorkle Casting Ltd., is well known as one of the top casting directors in New York. McCorkle Casting has worked with some of the best directors and biggest stars in the entertainment business, and has cast a long list of unknown young actors who have gone on to become household names. McCorkle Casting has cast 50 Broadway productions, 58 Off-Broadway productions, 21 national tours, 61 television projects, 51 feature films and has worked with 43 regional theaters.
Lighting Designer Scott Pinkney has designed more than 25 productions for The Barrington Stage Company since 2003, including The Best of Enemies, The Whipping Man, The Crucible, A Streetcar Named Desire, Carousel, Uncle Vanya, Follies, West Side Story and Ring Round the Moon. He was represented on Broadway by Harvey Fierstein’s Tony Award winning Torch Song Trilogy. Off-Broadway credits include Mark St. Germain’s Becoming Dr. Ruth, Mark Medoff’s The Majestic Kid, the original production of Ken Ludwig’s Divine Fire, the US Premiere of Cole Porter’s Nymph Errant, and the world premiere of Morris West’s The World is Made of Glass. Regional credits include Don Juan for the Denver Center (Denver Drama Critics Award), Balkan Women for Bristol Riverside Theatre (Barrymore Award Nomination), Comedy of Errors for Commonwealth Shakespeare (Elliot Norton Award), My Fair Lady for TheatreVirginia (Phoebe Award), Don Giovanni for NEC Opera, The Whipping Man for New Repertory Theatre, Secret Garden for the Olney Theatre and Larry Gatlin’s Texas Flyer for TUTS. Scott is an Associate Professor at Emerson College in Boston. His design company, Pinkney Associates, LLC, counts among its clients, IBM, The Smithsonian Institution and BMW.
Scenic Designer Brian Prather has designed for Barrington Stage Company for over a decade with more than 30 BSC productions to his credit. Designs include the premieres of Freud’s Last Session and Becoming Dr. Ruth, A Streetcar Named Desire, The North Pool, I Am My Own Wife, Fully Committed, A Picasso, Thief River, and premieres of musicals including The Burnt Part Boys, The Memory Show, The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, Pool Boy, and many others. Brian has also taken BSC to New York and beyond, designing the Off-Broadway productions of The Burnt Part Boys, The Memory Show, and Becoming Dr. Ruth, as well as designing the long-running Freud’s Last Session Off-Broadway and in LA, Detroit, Houston, and Chicago (which won the Jeff Equity Best Set Design: Midsize award). Off-Broadway credits include the premiere of Patrick Barlow’s new adaptation of A Christmas Carol at St. Clements, Playwrights Horizons, The Transport Group, and Prospect Theatre Co. among others. Regional and other credits include: The Alley Theatre, Goodspeed Musicals, TheaterWorks-Hartford, Virginia Rep., Delaware Theatre Co., The Hangar Theatre, and Shakespeare on the Sound. Brian has taught design as full-time faculty at Alvernia University and Ithaca College, as well as serving as guest artist at NYU, Emerson College, and The Hartt School.
Press Director Charlie Siedenburg joined the Barrington Stage family in 2005 and has represented over 80 BSC productions. His work had led to features in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, USA Today, and American Theatre Magazine. He began working as a publicist in 1990 at the Barn Theatre in August, MI, working with folks like Marin Mazzie and Tom Wopat. His many PR credits include the Metropolitan Opera (Live in HD), Paper Mill Playhouse (1999-2004), George Street Playhouse, Hartford Stage, Goodspeed Musicals, Long Wharf Theatre, and Two River Theatre Company. Charlie is personal publicist to Broadway’s Leslie Kritzer and Patrick Page. Charlie serves as National Press Rep for Chautauqua Theater Company, Project Shaw, Surflight Theatre, and Wagner College Theatre. Charlie is a 1995 Theatre/Arts Administration graduate of Wagner College on Staten Island, where he currently teaches Press Relations for the Theatre.
