Eleanor brings to life Eleanor Roosevelt, the most influential First Lady the world has ever seen. From her “Ugly Duckling” upbringing to her unorthodox marriage to Franklin, Eleanor puts her controversial life, loves and passions on the stage. The reading was filmed at the Mainstage without an audience, and will be available to stream on October 3 & 4 at 7:30 pm Eastern Time. Show run time is approximately one hour and forty minutes.
Please purchase your tickets as early as possible. Online sales will shut off promptly at 7:30pm Eastern Time the night of the performance. The Box Office will be available until 8pm Eastern Time both nights for tech support and/or late purchases, but please note if you purchase late you will miss part of the show.
Special FREE Panel Discussion
Go behind the scenes with Barrington Stage Company and the team behind Eleanor, the story of America’s most influential first lady. On Monday, October 5 at 4pm ET, BSC Artistic Director Julianne Boyd will moderate a FREE interactive panel discussion via Zoom, featuring Tony Award-winning actress Harriet Harris, BSC Associate Artist and Eleanor playwright Mark St. Germain, and director Henry Stram. The discussion will center on the creation and development of the play, and its journey from the intended live staged reading to the actual virtual reading, filmed in an empty theatre. Participation is limited. Register today to reserve your spot.
What to Expect
If you purchase your ticket before noon (ET) day of show:
- You will be immediately sent an automated email receipt from OvationTix when you purchase your ticket — this WILL include your link and password to view Eleanor.
- At noon on October 3 or 4 (whichever date you purchased), you’ll receive the link and password again from OvationTix with the subject line “Your unique link to view Eleanor”
- Eleanor is a livestream and will start at 7:30pm (ET). You are not able to watch it outside of this livestream, so please tune in on time. You technically can log in after 7:30pm, but since it is a livestream and started at 7:30pm (ET), you will not be able to watch the part of the show that has already happened. We highly encourage you to log in early as the show starts promptly at 7:30pm (ET).
- If you click on the link before the livestream starts, you’ll see a countdown clock and a black video screen. The show will automatically start at 7:30pm (ET) on 10/3 and 10/4.
- This livestream will require a more robust internet connection than other on-demand streaming services. Please make sure no one else in your house is streaming videos, games, or music at the time you are watching Eleanor.
