Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories, with music by 8-time Academy Award-winner Alan Menken, Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. is a beautiful love story for the ages. Featuring the popular songs from the movie and Broadway musical “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl” and the Academy Award-winning “Under the Sea.” In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, the fun-loving young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above.

Christine O’Grady returns for her seventh year as director and choreographer.  Her BSC credits include the popular Youth Theatre productions of Beauty and the Beast, All Shook Up, Into the Woods, Disney’s High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and Seussical.   O’Grady served as the Associate Choreographer for the Tony-winning revival of HAIR and the recent national tour.  She also choreographed the first NY revival of Alfred Uhry and Jason Robert Brown’s Parade for The Gallery Players.

Sarah Brett England returns for her second Youth Theatre production as Music Director.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. begins rehearsals on June 29 and runs from July 24 through August 11 in Pittsfield at The Berkshire Museum.  Performers must commit to the full rehearsal and performance schedule.  Program is free and includes master classes.  BSC’s Youth Theatre production models its Mainstage and, as such, performers sign a contract for this important commitment.
